Blogging Is Good For Your Social Life: Study
Wow, and I thought that starting a blog would only increase my hermit tendencies!
The research, from Swinburne University of Technology found that “people felt they had better social support and friendship networks than those who did not blog†after a two month blogging period when compared to people who do not blog.
Would you let this company design your website?
For a company that believes in “leading by example”, it appears that their own site hasn’t been updated since the mid-nineties:
“View source” for extra hilarity: no headings, pointless/no alt attributes for images etc.

Monitoring your online presence with Google Alerts
If you are interested in monitoring your online presence, or simply for a laugh, you can be alerted whenever your name is mentioned on a website. Here’s how:
- visit Google Alerts
- enter your name within double quotes in the Search terms box. e.g. “glen scott”
- enter your e-mail address in the Your email box
Now, whenever your name is mentioned in a newly indexed page, you will be e-mailed with the link… fun!
